Many years ago, before the term “blog” was coined in fact, I had a little corner of the web. It was called Dioxidized.com, and it offered a daily accounting of my doings. I was pretty unremarkable, being a twenty-something with a job and then without a job, and terribly prone to barely legible drunken rambles. It was a fun experience, and i “met” some interesting people (in context of exchanging emails).
That site went away.
Fast forward many years later, and I still have an interest in writing. I’ve got a Facebook account, but I have no interest in using that as the venue, since I’m solely limited to interacting with friends there. And Twitter’s 140 character limit makes discussing anything in depth just a little limiting. Really, I have no idea how we got so fascinated with Twitter in the first place – are we that ADHD as a society and a race that 140 characters is all we can be expected to say because our audiences attention will fizzle away after the 141st character? So, no, Twitter was not an option to me.
So back to the topic at hand. Dioxidized.com will now focus not so much on the monotany of my everyday life, but more so on two worlds that are constantly changing – politics and finance. Along the way, I won’t hesitate to weigh in on anything else. Could be a new gadget I got, a restaurant I ate at, a country i visited, or a ramble about anything else.
In short, though there will likely be mostly political analysis, don’t expect that any other topic is off limits.
Thank you and enjoy.
